Official government documents state Orangeman`s Day as a national holiday in Northern Ireland.

Also the Apprentice Boys parade is refered to as "Derry Day".

The Alabama Lodge was in Tobermore for the 12th - their third year in a row to Ulster. The Ulster-Scots Association of America also had a group over.

video clips of Tobermore and also the Scarva - RBP Sham Fight available on my site.

Hope everyone had a good day like me - just thought I'd drop in to explain that I'm an idiot and shouldn't have expected to see the Alabama lodge when I knew they were marching in Co. Londonderry somewhere... oops!

Ah, yes Happy 12th!!

haha, Orangeman's Day. I've noticed that on calendars and diaries as well.

A couple of tourists asked me at work where they could go on "Orangeman's Day" as they wanted to go out of Belfast. I don't know where the whole orangeman's day thing comes from, it sounds ridiculous!! It's the bloody 12th!!!

If only James Young were still alive, I'm sure he'd have something humourous to say about this bizarre naming.
