the C.I.R.A. were dumb enough (sorry -honest enough) to have "ban all orange marches"- why not have that ? it would save all this pissing around with commissions etc and we could then get down to taking racism out of our society properly.
Rather than the white hall policy of containment we could take matters into our own hands (easy now) and try to tolerate each other. Tolerate dosn't mean 'approve of' or 'enjoy' , it means 'tolerate'.
And I mean that for everyone - the bigggest ghettos arent Rathcoole or Twinbrook - the biggest ghetto is in our minds...... (sorry, i couldnt resist that one)

or rather - , the various empowered bodies in Northern Ireland seem more prepared to reward violence than reason in a bid to avoid more violence.
*I agree the O.O. should meet the challenge of dialogue with the Ardyone residents battalion, sorry, association, the odiousness of these organisations is more of a reason than an excuse*
We must ask ourselves is the spinless contuct of the parades commision etc. good for our society in the long run ? sure we might avoid riots today and tomorrow, but when they set down an example like this, how long can it be before the monkies on both sides realise
" just go out and riot " and the goverment line will change , submission may keep the bullies off your back for a while....but we all know how it goes in the end.

It does seem that the A.B.O.D. are being punished for the intolerance of the good people of the ardyone, who are getting their way via a clenched fist.
If the Apprentice boys dont represent a valid expression of Ulster culture , what does? remember the banner "make secterianism history"? - I wish they'ed look the word up. Or at least get honest slogans.
