			<description>Good of you to research a bit of the background, Beano. I'm just wrapping up on Joe Cahill's biography, which touches on a lot of these issues. I'll probably post a full review on The Levee Breaks at some point, but with regard to the Hunger Strikers, I've always held the view that they unrealistically attempted to portray themselves as political prisoners and ultimately they were part of a martyr-making process.&lt;br /&gt;

They have been glorified by Sinn Fein and their portraits are hung anywhere redneck republican supporters reside. I was disgusted at the weekend to discover hunger striker memorials all across North Antrim, in Ballycastle and Cushendall most notably.</description>
