FYI Martin, the definition of "irony" according to the Cambridge International Dictionary is as follows:

"an expression which suggests( humorously or angrily) a different meaning fro the words used."

Following that definition, Beano summarised the contradiction of the Milan students' stance perfectly.

And IMO, Marxists in Paris supporting the Provos, a gangster organisation, whose political wing still today uses the tool of sectarianism to keep the RC and Protestant working class divided, is also pretty ironic.
