Just reading above again: students, marxists (not to mention soviet communists), the Iranian government and 'Irish Americans'... perhaps a better title than Blame the Brits would have been "MOPErs of the world unite"

"thats not ironic you tool"

When Republicans stoop to the personal abuse of individual Unionist bloggers, which Martin has done here and seems to be becoming their regular tactic on Slugger and elsewhere, it shows up the intellectual weakness of their arguments.

FYI Martin, the definition of "irony" according to the Cambridge International Dictionary is as follows:

"an expression which suggests( humorously or angrily) a different meaning fro the words used."

Following that definition, Beano summarised the contradiction of the Milan students' stance perfectly.

And IMO, Marxists in Paris supporting the Provos, a gangster organisation, whose political wing still today uses the tool of sectarianism to keep the RC and Protestant working class divided, is also pretty ironic.
Chanting "Freedom for Ulster" in support of a man involved in an organisation who spent 30 years terrorising the people there? If it's not irony it's just blind stupidity.
