'High Risk' Prisoner Still Loose After Escape From Court
David Albert Taggart, described as a 'high risk' prisoner, is still on the loose. He was facing an attempted murder charge at Lisburn Magistrate's before escaping custody on Tuesday. The public are warned not to approach him should they spot him.
Follow up:
Security company Maybin today defended itself after letting Taggart, who was already serving time at Maghaberry for offences against the person, escape after he asked 2 security officers to open his cell door.
A Maybin spokesman said "The two members of staff involved, have extensive knowledge and working experience in the custodial environment, extending over at least a 20-year period." and pointed out that all officers undergo training accredited by the NIPS.
I'm sure that will be a great comfort to residents of the Shankill, where the police are now searching after earlier enquiries in Lisburn and searches in Millisle, Co. Down.
