Invest NI Spend £375k On Wombat
Yes, that's one expensive wombat...
OK it's not a real Wombat. Invest Northern Ireland have awarded Wombat, a high-tech company operating in the Financial Software market, $700k (US) to help them expand their Belfast workforce to 45 over the next couple of years.
Follow up:
"We believe it's our engineering teams' consistent ability to deliver that is central to setting us apart from the competition. Belfast is the cornerstone of that effort."
Danny Moore, Wombat COO
John Haran, Invest NI's senior vice president, America, said "Northern Ireland has emerged as a major centre for financial sector software development." He went on to cite investment from Citibank, Liberty IT and Northbrook Technology (Allstate insurance) as well as emerging companies "First Derivatives Plc, Harco, Microgen and now Wombat."
