Favourites Paris only have the challenge of London left now as New York, Moscow and Madrid have been ruled out of hosting the 2012 games. London were originally thought to be 3rd in the running behind Paris and Madrid, but in recent weeks have come to be second favourite to Paris.

Sebastion Coe and friends have put in a lot of work over the past 2 years and even Northern Ireland seems destined to benefit from a couple of games of Olympic football if London wins. London gained a lot of momentum over the last couple of weeks to get to the position it's in now.

The local (well, UK) media seem confident London has a chance. The decision has apparently already been made and we're just waiting on the announcement which is due shortly.
