WTO Comes To "Belfast, Ireland, United Kingdom"
No doubt you're all as excited as I was, finding out that the WTO is to host it's 2005 summit, apparently the first to ever be held in the west, at the Waterfront in Belfast. No, not the World Trade Organisation, I am of course referring to the World Toilet Organisation
Follow up:
"For too long our toileting needs have been let down by poor provision and poor maintenance and cleaning. People don't like using public toilets anymore. Sometimes they go in the street and it's not very healthy."
Richard Chisnell, Director, British Toilet Association
Almost as amusing is the World Toilet Association website which states that the conference will be held "at the Waterfront Conference Centre in Belfast, Ireland, United Kingdom." It reminded me of a few years ago when I heard an American event coming to the UK refer to the United Kingdom being made up of "England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland and Wales" - oh how I laughed.
