The Anti-Israel Mayor
Saw Ken Livingstone on the BBC this morning. Not a fan of his at the best of times but was disappointed to hear him compare the Israeli occupation of Gaza/the West Bank to Nazi occupation of Britain. Can Godwin's Law be applied to a breakfast news item on TV?
I don't often venture an opinion on the situation in the middle east because I don't know enough about it but Livingstone clearly should have kept his mouth shut as his comment seems to back up the idea that he and his fellow terrorist loving leftists have no idea about situations they feel qualified to talk about.
Follow up:
In an attempt to justify the suicide bombings carried out by Hamas, the PLO trying to force Israel out of its territories in Gaza/the West Bank and wherever else Red Ken said that were Britain occupied by Nazis today, he'd expect people to be fighting to free her from Germany.
He of course left out the fact that Israel's participation in the 6 Day War (when the lands were won) was not the result of aggression on Israel's part but a defence against an army gathering on her borders.

Remeber the wee Jewish reporter he compared to a concentration camp guard ? - (if I were a Jew and copped one like that off that rat , well, i think the young reporter was remarkably restrained - or maybe when he heard the words he thought , 'got him!' - imagine the surprise when ken was not only not sacked, but that no one was really even that bothered he'd said it, anti Semitism on the rise I think being the main factor , if he got on like that 20 years ago he'd have been bounced quicker than you can say "revolutionary workers party")
Old Ken is a nastier peice of work than he gets credit for
(and someone who is prepared to exaserbate (not aid the resolution of) conflicts he fails to understand or have any credible reason to get involved in....)
the mans a weasel who finds (anti- establishment) violence stimulating.
He had a run in with a Jewish journalist from the Evening Standard a couple of months ago and made some pretty horrible anti-semitic remarks.
In that respect I'd encourage everyone to become familiar with a fundamental theory of Godwin's Law (that whoever first resorts to comparisons with the Nazis has automatically lost the argument) and Recucito ad Hitlerum.
does it not also show institutional complacency on the part of the London Authority, mayors office etc that a man who publicly purports anti-Semitic insults and refuses to recant or apologise for the distress he caused (to every Jew on the planet who heard it, not just the people he expressed his vindication towards personally) was not dismissed and disgraced ,
Does left wing Arabiphilia equal de-facto anti-Semitism?
Or does ken just glance round the world, pick the ethnic groups he likes and decides who is good and who is bad on the grounds of their ethnic aesthetics...
Why else would he insult creed and history, instead of rationally criticising the Israeli state, if he opposes it so strongly....?
