Another Church Attacked In Ballymena
I wasn't going to post much today and leave last night's gloat (which in hindsight would have been more aptly titled "One Night In September") at the top of the home page. After all, looking at the news you'd be forgiven for thinking not much else had happened in the last 24 hours. Unfortunately I stumbled across a report that paint was thrown at a church hall in Ballymena last night. The damage was discovered at 8:00 this morning.
Follow up:
It's the latest in a long line of sectarian attacks in Ballymena that is destroying the already less than great reputation of the town once touted as Northern Ireland's next city (before Lisburn and Newry got there).
Oh - this time it was republicans attacking a Protestant church. Catholic churches and homes have been being targeted for most of the summer in disgusting sectarian attacks and it now seems likely to degenerate into a tit-for-tat contest.
It's quite sick. After all, I doubt many of those involved in the attacks were church-goers anyway, it seems unfair that good-living folk bare the brunt of the sectarian problems of Ballymena.
