Loyalists To Target PSNI At Home
I was reading an article in today's Observer (doesn't appear to be online) in which Henry McDonald writes that loyalists are contemplating attacks on off-duty PSNI officers in their homes. One senior paramilitary (I believe) was quoted as saying "I would burn them while they were in their beds." The paper also carried a photo of graffiti on a wall proclaiming "Join the PSNI and come home to a real fire."
We really are now reaching the depths of depravity. Aside from the fact the attacks will also harm and potentially kill the officers' wives and children, these officers risk their lives trying to keep this country going and don't deserve to be attacked, least of all in their homes.
If people have serious grievances with the police, then take it up via the proper channels. Protest (peacefully) at Policing Board meetings and at PSNI HQ. Protest (still peacefully!!) at Stormont and/or Hillsborough. Don't stoop to the levels of the IRA, at the worst depths of their illegal attacks on our country.
Do these people not understand the damage they're doing to the country they're supposed to be 'protecting', 'defending' or 'loyal' to.
