EU to ban Ryanair?
The European Parliament is set to vote on proposals that would ban airlines from quoting prices that don't include taxes and charges. Super, smashing, great!
Follow up:
Not before time. Prices, in this country anyway (unlike North America), have always included sales tax, so customers are used to seeing a price-sticker that shows exactly what they'll have to hand over at the til. I don't see why airlines have been able to get away with doing things differently for so long. It's nothing more than misleading advertising.
It's the sort of move would actually make you a bit more positive towards Europe, were it not for the abominable piece of legislation they pushed through yesterday encouraging ISPs to spy on their customers and having the cheek to tell us it's for our own good - how stupid do they think we are?.

However, Ryanair and others are not doing this for the public good - merely to confuse customers into thinking that their fares are cheaper than they actually are.
By all means let them state the amount of tax included but the headline number should be the total fare.
