Yet again we see the police being attacked in west Belfast as 2 officers were injured last night.

2 police officers stopped their patrol car to speak to a man who had approached them and were set upon by a mob. One received a broken jaw and was stabbed in the arm, while the other escaped with 'just' a bruised back. The 2 officers were attacked by about 30 people.

This really is sickening. How cowardly are the scumbags that inhabit these areas? Surely some of their neighbours must know some of the people involved. They should report them now. The police are seen as soft targets because they can't fight back. This isn't the way things are supposed to work in a 'peaceful' society.

Do we have to wait until someone gets killed before the senior officers or the NIO take the threat of these glue-sniffing, buckfast drinking, low-life bastards seriously? This poor guy was stabbed and had his jaw broken. That'll likely mean he can't eat for about a month! This isn't a scrape and a cut we're talking about.

Time to catch a grip methinks.
